Eyes Toward Your Inner Hills
Psalms 121:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 121 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm invites turning toward inner awareness for help, recognizing the source as the Creator who made heaven and earth.
Neville's Inner Vision
I read the hills as elevations of consciousness, not distant geography. When the psalm says, 'My help cometh from the LORD,' I hear the assurance that help arises from within, from the I AM that dwells as your very awareness. The maker of heaven and earth is not a separate builder outside you; he is the I AM imagining you into being, and you as that imagination. The hills rising in your mind signify rising states of faith, trust, and order in the inner world. To 'lift up mine eyes' is to shift attention from lack to possibility, from circumstance to consciousness. As you dwell in the assumption that you are already aided by that inward source, your sense of separation dissolves and your outer world mirrors the inner declaration. Remember: the source of all help is the I AM within, and your life becomes the expression of that sovereign presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the state of being helped by the I AM; close your eyes, repeat 'My help comes from the LORD,' and feel yourself standing atop inner hills where every lack dissolves.
