Scripture Focus

57Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
58I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.
59I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
60I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.
61The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
62At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
63I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
64The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:57-64

Biblical Context

God is described as the speaker's portion, and the path is one of turning toward God's testimonies with dedication. The believer rises in gratitude, loves mercy, and seeks to live by divine statutes in constant remembrance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 57 inwardly declares that the I AM is my portion, and I have said I will keep thy words. I stand in the reality that the word of God is mine to live by, and my decision to keep it is my first act of alignment. Verse 58 asks for favor according to thy word; I revise my inner state to accept mercy as mine now, for the word is within and works through me. Verse 59 I think on my ways and turn my feet unto thy testimonies; I shift my attention from lack to truth, choosing a path that mirrors divine law. Verse 60 I make haste and delay not to keep thy commandments; my inner obedience manifests as swift alignment between thought and action. Verse 61 when the bands of the wicked threaten, I do not forget thy law, for the living word holds my memory. Verse 62 at midnight I rise to give thanks unto thee for thy righteous judgments; gratitude becomes my nightly discipline. Verse 63 I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts, proof that my inner fellowship is with spiritual fidelity. Verse 64 the earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy; teach me thy statutes, that I may live them.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as your portion now, and feel the reality of mercy as if it were already yours. Revise a recent worry to align with that truth and imagine walking daily in the precepts.
