Read Psalms 113 in context

Scripture Focus

7He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
Psalms 113:7-8

Biblical Context

The verse states that God lifts the poor from dust and the needy from the dunghill, placing them with the princes of the people.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this psalm, the 'poor' and the 'needy' are not external conditions but inner states of consciousness. The 'dust' and 'dunghill' symbolize limitation and lack in the mind; the 'princes' represent the noble idea of yourself that your awareness can wear. The I AM—your true awareness—does the lifting when you revise your self-concept. Elevation is an inner adjustment: you are not becoming someone new, you are recognizing a state that already belongs to you. To enact it, assume the feeling of being seated among the princes now—see the surroundings, hear the voices of dignity, and act from that royal consciousness. The outer world will reflect the inner decree as you persist in that revised self-image. The verse teaches a law of grace: your inner state commands your circumstances, and the I AM honors the chosen state by manifesting it as reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already seated with the princes of your people. Feel the air of dignity around you and let that royal self-image replace the old sense of lack; dwell there until it feels real.
