Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm proclaims the LORD’s great works, his enduring righteousness, and his gracious compassion. It also speaks of his provision for those who fear him and his faithfulness to the covenant.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this Psalm, the 'works of the LORD' are not distant acts but the very movements of your own awareness. When you acknowledge that your life is the stage where divine activity unfolds, you discover that 'great' works are simply the lifting of your sensation into alignment with the I AM. Righteousness that endures forever becomes the steady, unassailable pattern of your inner state—a rightness that cannot be shaken by appearances. The phrase 'he hath made his wonderful works to be remembered' invites you to remember the miracles of your own experience: moments when you felt supported, guided, fed by an unseen Providence. 'The LORD is gracious and full of compassion' becomes the felt atmosphere of your interior life—the mercy you repeatedly confirm by assuming the wish fulfilled. 'He hath given meat unto them that fear him' translates as inner provision: your needs are met as you dwell in the covenant of your own I AM. To live here is to dare to trust a promise that cannot fade; the Lord, within, keeps it.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state of the I AM within—feel the Lord already acting as provision in your life. Sustain the feeling until it is natural, then go about your day aware of the covenant fulfilled.
