Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage proclaims the enduring glory of God in creation and invites the soul to praise, rest in delight, and bless the Lord. It calls for joyful worship and a heart turned toward the divine.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this psalm, the enduring glory is not a distant event but the very state you inhabit. When you say, I am the glory of the Lord, you invite creation to respond as your inner environment. The tremble and the smoke of the hills become metaphors for the release of old conditions as you turn your attention from lack to the joy of God’s works. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live, I will meditate on Him; these vows describe a continuous alignment with the I AM, where substitution of images occurs: the self that praises endures, the old doubts dissolve, and sweetness of contemplation grows. Let the sinners be consumed... let the wicked be no more—these phrases are not violence toward others but the clearing away of beliefs not truth; bless my soul, praise the LORD, is the soul’s recommitment to its origin in divine awareness. I am that awareness; the world I see is the result of my inward posture.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of praise now: declare 'I am the glory of the Lord' and feel that truth as a living sensation. When doubt arises, revise the scene by affirming 'Let the old thoughts be consumed' and continue in joyful praise until it feels real.
