The Unchanging I AM Within

Psalms 102:25-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 102 in context

Scripture Focus

25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Psalms 102:25-27

Biblical Context

The psalm declares that God laid the earth’s foundations and formed the heavens; all created things will perish and change, but God remains the same.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the structures of your own conviction. In this light, all creation is a state you hold in mind, a pattern of thoughts and feelings you have consented to as real. The verse says these things shall perish and wax old; that is to say, the changing forms of life—people, bodies, circumstances—are only the garments consciousness wears. Yet Thou art the same, and Thy years shall have no end. That unchanging Thou is the I AM within you, the living awareness that does not age, does not fear decay. Therefore, identify with the constant Self, and let the transient world pass as you remain the permanent observer. When you feel the world aging, revise: I am the same I AM behind every image; the forms are not real but temporary costumes. By dwelling in that steadiness, you awaken to a new order wherein impermanent appearances yield to enduring peace.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and dwell on the thought, I AM the unchanging I AM. Then revise a present circumstance by feeling it already transformed into the stable reality of that timeless Self.
