Read Psalms 102 in context

Scripture Focus

10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
11My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
Psalms 102:10-11

Biblical Context

The verses describe experiences of being lifted up and cast down, and of days that pass like a shadow, fading and frail.

Neville's Inner Vision

The indignant regard and outward wrath are not external judgments but the heat of your own thoughts. Lift and cast down are movements within your states of mind, the weather of consciousness, not the decree of distant powers. The line about days being a shadow signals that time is experienced through belief, and the self can seem withered when you identify with changing forms. Yet you are the I AM, the unchanging witness behind every mood. When you identify with this eternal awareness, the appearances shift; the wrath recedes as you revise the scene, and you are not a victim of passing moments. Make the assumption that you are always the life that sustains every appearing scene, and feel it real. Rest in the awareness that you are the author of your experience, free to renew your life by a simple shift in consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare I am the I AM; these appearances rise and pass in my awareness, and I remain unchanged. I choose renewal now.
