Inner Judgment and the Righteous Path

Psalms 1:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 1 in context

Scripture Focus

5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 1:5-6

Biblical Context

The verse contrasts the fate of the ungodly with those who walk the righteous path: in judgment they do not stand, and the LORD knows the way of the righteous, while the way of the ungodly perishes.

Neville's Inner Vision

In truth, the ungodly are not other people but a state of consciousness that says, 'I am separate, I lack, I fear.' The LORD knowing the way of the righteous is the I AM within you, your awakened awareness that recognizes a pattern, a habit, a possibility and calls it by its true name. Psalm 1:5-6 teaches that the inner court will not sustain the ungodly image—it cannot stand where the I AM dwells. When you dwell in the consciousness that you are the righteous path—the end already achieved in awareness—the old ungodly way dissolves, for it carries no heat in the presence of truth. Your mind becomes the congregation of the righteous because you end past judgments by assuming the reality you desire. If you insist that your life follows a divided course, you will perish in the sense that the old belief vanishes from your experience as you occupy the new, living state.

Practice This Now

Assume the end: imagine you are already among the righteous, known and held by the I AM. Sit quietly, feel the inner court of awareness, and revise the old self-concept into the experience of right standing.
