Read Proverbs 9 in context

Scripture Focus

6Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Proverbs 9:6

Biblical Context

The verse urges us to forsake foolishness and move toward understanding, promising life when we choose wisdom's path.

Neville's Inner Vision

Proverbs 9:6 is not a command issued from without, but an invitation from within your own being. To forsake the foolish is to release the old self that clings to lack, to drop the belief that life runs by chance, and to assume the I AM-centered state that understands. Your true awareness—the I AM— is the still point from which all life unfolds. When you imagine you already stand in wisdom and revise every moment to that standard, you shift the inner atmosphere. You are not changing external events; you are changing the inner condition that births events. Thoughts become motives; motives become actions; actions become your world. The life spoken of is the life of alignment with truth, not mere survival. See the wiser self as present now, and feel the confidence that attends that state. Dwelling there, you will notice the outer conditions rearrange to reflect your inner understanding. The shift happens in memory, in feeling, in assumption. Rest in the I AM, and allow the world to mirror your inner discernment.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively assume you are the wiser self in this moment; revise one repeated thought to match that state and feel it real.
