Wisdom and Inner Kingdom
Proverbs 29:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Proverbs 29 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage contrasts loving wisdom with dangerous folly and flattery, showing how inner choices determine external order and personal wealth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through Neville Goddard’s lens, the verse says: loving wisdom is the joy of the inner father—the I AM that you are—while associating with folly drains your substance. The king’s rule is established by just judgment in your inner commonwealth; when you accept gifts or flattery, you undermine that rule and invite collapse. A flatterer spins a net for the feet, literally a mental trap sewn from illusions that pretend to please others while quickening your undoing. The outer world obeys the inner state; your wealth and peace are the byproducts of the quality of your imagination. To live victoriously, you must revise any scene in which you seek approval through deceit, and instead reaffirm the state of wisdom I AM loves. Assume the feeling that you are already the discerning ruler of your inner land, where judicious choice creates order, safety, and abundance. When you dwell there, the land is established; when you waver, you scatter it.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the state 'I am the Wisdom-loving I AM' and feel it real; revise any scene of flattery or selfish gain by picturing yourself acting with just judgment, then dwell in the felt sense of a prosperous inner land.
