Wisdom Beyond Self-Trust

Proverbs 28:26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 28 in context

Scripture Focus

26He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Proverbs 28:26

Biblical Context

The verse contrasts trusting in one's own heart with walking in wisdom; self-trust is folly, while wise living leads to deliverance.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the language of the I AM, 'the heart' is a state of consciousness, not a captive organ. To trust it is to identify with a limited, egoic self that mistakes impression for truth. Deliverance comes when you decide, in inner imagination, to walk as the wiser self—the self that follows inner guidance and the I AM within. Your true Self does not fear; it assumes the end, sees the desired state as already real, and lets that conviction dissolve the appearance of limitation. This is not cleverness of the outer mind but a settled state of awareness that knows all is one with divine provision. When you act from that inner conviction—feeling it real, seeing the end from the end—you experience the deliverance: doors open, challenges soften, and your life unfolds in alignment with the higher premise you have assumed.

Practice This Now

Assume the end: you are delivered by walking wisely. Revise any impulse 'my heart tells me' to 'the I AM within guides me,' and feel that guidance as you move.
