Wakeful Wealth Within

Proverbs 24:33-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 24 in context

Scripture Focus

33Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 24:33-34

Biblical Context

Proverbs 24:33-34 warns that a little sleep and a little folding of the hands lead to poverty arriving like a traveler, illustrating how laziness manifests as lack.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the verse as a map of inner states. Poverty is a state of consciousness that travels with you when you fall into the sleep of neglecting the I AM. If you fold the hands to sleep, you are rehearsing a belief that wealth can only come later; you thus invite want to walk beside you. The I AM—your awakened awareness—is always ready to provide; wealth sprouts from a living assumption. To revise is to refuse the dream of delay and to plant attention in the present sense of abundance. Assume you already possess what you seek, and feel it real by imagining a day filled with purposeful activity and unforced momentum. When you act from that inner end-state—even in small, daily tasks—you harmonize your outer scene with the truth you hold. Poverty arrives as a traveler because you welcomed sleep into your consciousness. Wake up by choosing a state of readiness, and your life follows the rhythm of your inner conviction.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already awake to your daily bread. In the next minute, close your eyes and imagine yourself moving with purpose, as if work and provision are already yours; feel the reality of that end-state and let it guide today’s actions.
