Biblical Context
The verse says it is pleasant to keep wise precepts within you, for they will be fitted to your lips.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this verse you are called to treat wisdom as a state of consciousness rather than a distant rule. When you keep the wise precepts within you, they stop being external laws and begin to dress your mind—so the words that spill from your lips are the outward garment of an inner confession. The pleasantness stems from the alignment of your I AM with that inner law. In Neville's practice, imagination is the creative act; what you cherish internally becomes your spoken world. Therefore the act is revision: quietly assume the present tense state that you already harbor wisdom within, and speak from that inner wardrobe. The lips then become fitted to wisdom, not by effort but by inner consent.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner state of wisdom now and repeat, 'I keep wisdom within; my lips express it,' until it feels real. Then speak one line that embodies that inner truth.
