Inner Conquest of the Mighty

Proverbs 21:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 21 in context

Scripture Focus

22A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
Proverbs 21:22

Biblical Context

Wise discernment overcomes outward power; the strong are scaled by inner understanding. The verse invites us to see the inner city of consciousness where confidence is formed and thus overturned.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the wise man as your awareness, the I AM, who enters the city of the mighty not with force but with knowledge. The city is the outward world of power— kingdoms, reputations, and the confident. When you maintain a constant assumption that you are the living I AM, you scale those walls from within. Your scaling is an inner revision: you alter the mental image of power by recognizing that the strength of the mighty rests on belief, not on iron or law. By a revised feeling of reality—feeling it real that you already command the scene—you cast down the very confidence that sustains their fortress. Providence flows through the one who refuses to identify with lack or limitation; it flows as your awareness becoming aware of itself, turning appearance to its end. So hold to the inner fact: I am the I AM; all power is consciousness, and the mighty fall when your inner state holds a higher conviction. The more you dwell in this truth, the less the world constrains you, for you have scaled the city of power from within.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM is your truth and revise the inner image of power. For five minutes, dwell in the feeling that you have already scaled the walls of the mighty, watching their confidence loosen.
