Inner Pride and Humble Destiny

Proverbs 16:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 16 in context

Scripture Focus

18Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Proverbs 16:18-19

Biblical Context

Pride leads to destruction; humility with the lowly is better than sharing spoils with the proud.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, these lines are not judgments but signals of your inner weather. Pride is a state of consciousness that pretends to stand apart from Life, to own outcomes as personal spoils; the moment you entertain that 'I' apart, destruction follows as the inner energy withdraws from harmony. The haughty mind fearfully clutches results and commands, and life complies by bending the very path of events to reveal the fall. Yet when you choose a humble spirit, you align with the benevolent I AM that moves through all, and you discover that true companionship with the lowly is not about status but about being in tune with unity. Destruction recedes as the inner self accepts its oneness with every being and with divine flow; you wake to a different leader within, one who yields rather than exults, and the external 'spoils' fall into place without struggle. Your imagination collaborates with this correction; you can live as though you already walk in humble companionship, and the world will reflect that inner state.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of being one with the humble; revise any boastful thought by declaring I AM all; feel it-real by picturing yourself walking with the humble and noticing effortless flow.
