Inner Enticement in Proverbs

Proverbs 1:10-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 1 in context

Scripture Focus

10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
Proverbs 1:10-14

Biblical Context

It warns you about enticement from those who would chase violence and wealth. It commands you not to consent, guarding your life.

Neville's Inner Vision

View the verse as a map of the inner man. The 'sinners' are not distant villains but a crowd of thoughts, beliefs, and appetites that rise within you, urging you to join a common purse and seize what seems precious. The invitation 'Come with us' is a suggestion that life can be secured by numbers and plots, that violence and plunder prove your worth. Yet the I AM within you—your true awareness—needs no such alliance. When you hear the call, affirm, I do not consent to any miscreation; I awaken to the reality that abundance flows from a disciplined mind, not from theft or fear. The phrase 'we shall find all precious substance' dissolves as you recognize substance as an inner state of fullness, not a changingoutside fortune. By choosing loyalty to your higher self, you refuse to merge with the crowd and its purse. Your inner kingdom is not a cave of wealth but a certainty of provision that cannot be stripped by illusion.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM here; affirm 'I do not consent to fear or lack.' Then imagine the crowd fading away, while your inner provision remains steady and sure.
