Your Inner Work Is Assured

Philippians 1:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Philippians 1 in context

Scripture Focus

6Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
Philippians 1:6-7

Biblical Context

Paul expresses confidence that God began a good work in them and will bring it to completion; he speaks of mutual grace and shared heart in the gospel.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the Father’s work is already under way, and the good you seek is not distant but an inner state to be realized now. The promise in these lines is not about changing external circumstances but allowing your awareness to rise to the finished idea you hold as true. God, the I AM, is the energy that began this good work, and He will perform it until the day your Christ within fully awakens. Paul feels the gospel as a living bond inside the heart, and so you too are partakers of grace by recognizing that grace as your own present activity of consciousness. The defense and confirmation of the gospel means every thought, feeling, and decision aligned with your end strengthens the inner gospel you treasure. The day of Jesus Christ is the moment when your inner vision becomes outward reality, not a future event but the flourishing of the divine idea you have accepted. See yourself as already complete in this moment, and outward life will synchronize with that inner truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are the finished work in consciousness and feel the relief now. Revise any sense of lack until your inner sense matches the end you choose.
