Biblical Context
This passage urges you to discern what is excellent and to live sincerely, without causing offense. It speaks of being filled with the fruits of righteousness for God’s glory.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theatre of your life, this verse asks you to test your own states of consciousness. 'Approve things that are excellent' is a call to align your awareness with noble possibilities, discarding fear, doubt, and petty judgments until your inner weather is bright. 'That ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ' invites steady, unoffended sincerity—an inner integrity that does not betray the Christ within by inconsistency. The 'day of Christ' is not a calendar date but the moment you recognize your awareness as the Christ, the I AM expressing as you. 'Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ' means righteousness is sown from within by faith and imagination—the fruits of peace, patience, and love arising as you dwell in a state that already bears them. Thus the passage becomes an instruction manual: presume the living state you wish to see, dwell there, and your world will reflect that perfected consciousness back to you as light.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I now approve what is excellent,' feeling the inner sincerity rise. Then revise any doubt by imagining the fruits of righteousness blooming in your life.
