The Priest Within: Inner Offerings

Numbers 5:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 5 in context

Scripture Focus

9And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
10And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.
Numbers 5:9-10

Biblical Context

Plainly, the verse says that offerings given to the priest belong to the priest; likewise, the hallowed things within a person are claimed by the inner function that acts as priest.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture the priest not as a man in history, but as your inner state of consciousness—the I AM that dwells in you and through you. The offerings are your chosen thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about wealth, purity, and provision. When you 'bring' these sacred states to the priest, you are placing your inner investments under the authority of that higher self; the result is that the inner state becomes their owner and steward. 'Shall be his' then means the fruits of your offerings appear as possessions of the inner you you have identified with, not as gifts to an external temple. Your life follows the nature of the state you honor. To practice, assume the priest already possesses your sacred investments and feel the abundance, integrity, and order arising from that possession. If you sense lack, revise the assumption until you feel it real that you are the property and servant of the holy state you acknowledge. By this revision you awaken to the truth that the kingdom you seek is within, and your offerings are the currency of that kingdom.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the priest within already owns your offerings; declare, 'I AM the priest, and all my holy things are mine.' Then feel the sense of possession and abundance flowing through you.
