Guardians Of The Inner Tabernacle
Numbers 3:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Numbers 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage assigns the Levites a duty to guard the tabernacle and its service; similarly, you guard the inner temple of your mind and its instruments to perform true worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theatre of your mind, Numbers 3:7–8 is not a historical assignment but a map of consciousness. 'They shall keep his charge' means you maintain fidelity to your I AM, the awareness that stands at the threshold of every moment. The 'tabernacle' is your living body and psyche—the holy temple where ideas of self and world are housed. The 'instruments of the tabernacle' are your inner faculties—the senses, memory, imagination, and will—each to be kept pure and used in service to the divine within. By tending these from a state of reverent, fearless attention, you align the whole of your being with its rightful service. When you imagine yourself as steward of this inner sanctuary, you do not punish yourself for past thoughts but revise them by assuming the new state: I am the keeper of this temple; I do my service in harmony with the higher self. Obedience to this inner call becomes your reality.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the keeper of your inner temple and feel the order you maintain. Silently declare I guard the tabernacle of my mind and serve its holy purpose. Let that feeling of ordered worship linger, so the next moment reflects the service you chose.
