Numbers 25:1-2

Biblical Context

Israel dwells at Shittim and falls into sexual immorality with the daughters of Moab, then participates in sacrifices to their gods and bows to them.

Neville's Inner Vision

See Shittim not as a place on a map but as the quiet edge of your own mind where old appetites surface. The daughters of Moab are the seductive thoughts that invite you to kneel to outside powers—the assurance of status, approval, or ritual that promises satisfaction yet keeps you from the altar within. When the people eat and bow, they reveal a forgetting of the I AM that you truly are. In this language, every act outside of the inner God is a misalignment in consciousness; outward sacrifices mirror an inward worship of something other than the source of life. The moment you accept a belief of lack and seek validation through forms, you are, in effect, committing spiritual infidelity to your covenant. Yet the tale is not judgment but a guiding mirror: you can reverse it by turning your imagination back to the I AM, by choosing to feel as one with the indwelling presence, by dwelling in loyalty to the inner God. Your thoughts forge your reality; awaken from the dream of separation and inhabit the true worship that already resides within.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of unwavering loyalty to the I AM in you, and revise any belief of lack or need for outside ritual. Feel it real now by turning your attention inward and bowing only to the inner God that dwells within.
