Biblical Context
Numbers 24:24 foresees ships from the coast of Chittim that will afflict Asshur and Eber, and the demise of the one identified with them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take the verse as a symbol rather than a historical forecast. Ships from the coast of Chittim symbolize movements of consciousness arising from the edge of your present self. They come to afflict Asshur and Eber—inner states you have mistaken for fixed powers: pride, fear, limitation, old identities. As these thoughts are stirred by the new imagination, they are challenged, pressed, and ultimately dissolved. The line that 'he also shall perish for ever' points to the ending of the old self you have clung to; not destruction of others, but the letting go of a belief in separation. In Neville's terms, the outer event (the ships) reveals an inner shift: a new assumption you hold about yourself— that you are the I AM, the living awareness that creates and sustains all. When you imagine from the end, these internal ships become agents of transformation, cleansing away the outdated image and making room for a higher reality to arise. Your present experience becomes the effect of your inner state; the prophecy is a map of inner change, not a forecast of external defeat.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are the I AM and imagine ships of consciousness arriving from the edge of your known self, dissolving the old identifications; feel it real.
