Biblical Context

Balak commands a curse or blessing; Balaam responds that he must do only what the LORD speaks.

Neville's Inner Vision

In your life, Balak's demand to curse or bless is the outer drag of circumstance; Balaam's answer reveals the truth: the only power you obey is the I AM that speaks within. 'All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do' is not a boast of servitude to a king but a confession of alignment with the divine word circulating in your consciousness. The word of the LORD is your creative impulse; when you hear it, you are compelled to act in harmony, for the inner decree has authority over appearances. The drama of king and prophet dissolves when you recognize that your state of consciousness determines what words you utter and what events you welcome. If you believe you are blessed or cursed by others, you have not yet learned to let the inner word govern. Instead, dwell in the certainty that the LORD's speaking within you sets the pattern; obedience is not submission but alignment of your thoughts, feelings, and plans with the living truth you have heard. When you remain faithful to this inner command, your world becomes a faithful echo of that decree.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner decree: 'I do all that the LORD speaks' and feel it real. Then proceed today in alignment with that word, watching your outer world respond to the inner command.
