14And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
Numbers 12:14

Biblical Context

The Lord lays down a seven-day period of shame and banishment from the camp, after which Miriam is allowed back in.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, this passage is a window into the inner court of the I AM. The 'LORD' is the awareness that governs Moses—the inner governor of your life—and the 'shaming' of Miriam is a moment when a belief has separated from the divine order. The seven days out of the camp symbolize a cooling-off of outward identification, a temporary withdrawal from the field of activity so the mind can re-align with its true center. Rather than punishment, it is a natural pause in which a consciousness believed to be separated gathers itself and asks to be received back into the circle of life. When the inner voice declares reintegration, the limitation is dissolved and the self can return to its rightful place in the 'camp' of consciousness. The practical teaching: shift your sense of self from the narrative of separation into the awareness that you are always the I AM, capable of being restored to wholeness in the very moment you choose alignment.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner state of being already reintegrated; for seven days, revise any sense of shame by affirming 'I am the I AM; I am welcomed back into my inner camp' and feel it real for a few minutes daily.
