Numbers 11:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Numbers 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God will descend and impart the Spirit to Moses and others, so the burden is shared and not borne alone.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 11:17 speaks the language of your inner life. 'I will come down and talk with thee' signals that the divine awareness is not distant but descends into your mind as you attend to it. 'I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them' means your acknowledged power—your I AM awareness—can be extended to other facets of your consciousness, or to imagined companions within your inner world. When you dwell in this assumption, the burden you carry in one department of your life is not borne alone; the energy now circulates to the other states of self and to the field you imagine around you, creating unity. The 'they shall bear the burden with thee' is the practical proof that your consciousness is not isolated but multiplied through fellowship with your own inner forces. This is the essence of grace: favored circulation of spirit when you choose to believe that oneness exists here and now. By imagining and feeling the shared load, you awaken a reality in which difficulties are softened and cooperation becomes a natural law.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and assume that the I AM descends to speak within you. Then visualize the Spirit you carry flowing to the other facets of your mind (or to imagined companions) and feel the burden lift as solidarity and support become your lived experience.
