Biblical Context
Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem mock Nehemiah’s plan, asking what he does and if he rebels against the king. Nehemiah replies that the God of heaven will prosper them, and that they will rise and build, while their enemies have no portion in Jerusalem.
Neville's Inner Vision
From a Neville Goddard vantage, the events are not distant history but your inner state becoming seen. When the mockery arises—voices that say you cannot, that it cannot be done—recognize them as projections of fear within. The God of heaven, understood as the I AM, is your constant presence; saying He will prosper us means your awareness plants the prosperous form in imagination. The phrase we his servants will arise and build is your own decision to take responsibility within your mind and begin the inner construction: choose the end you desire and feel the intention as already accomplished. They have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem translates as: the external chorus cannot define your inner city. Your Jerusalem is a state of consciousness you inhabit; prosperity is a condition you cultivate by habit of mind; the illusion of limitation yields to steady assumption. Persist, and the inner conviction reshapes the outer scene. In short, the inner God answers the inner doubt with assurance, and action follows from a consciousness that already possesses the outcome.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of prosperity for 5 minutes: close your eyes, declare I AM prospering, and mentally see yourself building your Jerusalem. Repeat the assertion and let the sense of construction flood your being.
