Inner Temple Restored

Nehemiah 13:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Nehemiah 13 in context

Scripture Focus

10And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.
11Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.
Nehemiah 13:10-11

Biblical Context

Nehemiah discovers that the Levites were not supplied for their duties; they have fled to other work. He confronts the rulers and gathers them, restoring the proper order in the house of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here we see the law of states: the Levites are the ministers of devotion within me; when I withhold their portion, they drift into the field of distraction, and the temple of my awareness grows thin. The house of God is not an edifice but my I AM, and its forsaking is a signal that a portion of my energy is unrecognized. I do not bargain with outer rulers; I revise the inner order. I gather the scattered Levites—my faculties of worship, song, and service—and set them in their appointed place, feeding them with attention, gratitude, and reverence. In doing so, the singers resume their chorus and the workers return to sacred labor. Presence returns as I insist that the temple be fed and used for true worship. This is covenant loyalty—recognizing and honoring the inner ministers so that the inner temple remains a dwelling of the divine.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, touch your heart, and affirm, 'The house of God is not forsaken in me.' Then revise your state by mentally placing the Levites back in their stations and feeding them with focused, reverent attention.
