Read Nehemiah 11 in context

Scripture Focus

1And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.
2And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 11:1-2

Biblical Context

The rulers dwell in Jerusalem, the rest cast lots to live there. Those who willingly choose Jerusalem are blessed.

Neville's Inner Vision

These verses invite you to see Jerusalem as the inner center of your life. The rulers are the governing ideas of your consciousness who choose to anchor themselves in a designated place of awareness. Jerusalem represents a holy, set-apart focus where your true work begins. Casting lots signifies the inner decision to allocate a portion of your attention to that center, and blessing those who willingly move there affirms your own I AM supporting your choice. When you choose to dwell in your inner Jerusalem, your daily work and vocation align with your higher self and a climate of unity arises within. The nine other cities symbolize distractions, habits, or fears that pull you away from your center. The blessing on the volunteers confirms your inner I AM's recognition of your chosen dwelling and the dignity of Imago Dei, birthing a community of harmony within your soul.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume you already dwell in your inner Jerusalem; feel the peace, authority, and belonging there, and let your daily choices flow from that center.
