Biblical Context
Oaths are renounced; simple, truthful speech suffices. Let your yes be yes and your no be no, for anything more arises from evil.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the I AM vantage, Matthew 5:33-37 invites a radical inner discipline: your word should flow from a stable inner reality and not depend on any external oath. Swearing implies you doubt the state you inhabit and seek proof in heaven, earth, or kingship. Yet the heaven within is consciousness, the earth is your setting of thoughts, and Jerusalem is the picture of your inner city. If you assume you are already that which you affirm, your speech becomes a natural note of your being. The I AM is not a future promise but an ever-present fact; your yes is the vibration of truth already held in awareness, your no a protecting boundary drawn by the certainty of your state. When you live in this inner alignment, you need no oaths because your word reflects your state. The more you practice speaking from this interior certainty, the more your outer world conforms to it, for reality follows the state you persist in.
Practice This Now
Pause before speaking and declare, 'I am the I AM; my word reflects my state.' Then answer with 'Yes' or 'No' while imagining a radiant seal of truth sealing your lips.
