Wholly Within: The Inner Law

Biblical Context
Jesus shows that inner states govern action more than external rules. Anger, lust, and judgment arise from consciousness, and true obedience comes by inner reconciliation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you is the true law, the I AM that cannot be touched by outward conflict. In Matthew 5:21–48 the old injunctions point you to a deeper kingdom within. When anger rises toward your brother, you have already slain him in your own consciousness, for separation is the illusion of mind. The words 'Raca' or 'fool' reveal a fracture in the unity of God’s light inside you. To bring your gift to the altar while nursing grievance is to declare that the altar lives outside you. Reconcile with your imagined adversary first, and your outward acts will reflect that inner peace. Agree with your adversary quickly, for you are the mind that makes the scene. Do not resist evil by clinging to rules; instead, assume the end: you are already reconciled, loved, and free. The Father in heaven causes sun and rain to fall on both just and unjust as your heart rests in perfect love.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: in a quiet moment, imagine you are already reconciled with a real or imagined adversary; feel the relief of unity and say silently, I AM reconciled with you.
