Inner Reconciliation Practice
Matthew 5:21-26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Jesus expands the command not to kill into an inner issue: anger, contempt, and judgment are forms of inner violence. True worship requires reconciliation with the 'brother'—an inner facet or person you hold against—before you offer your gifts.
Neville's Inner Vision
All outward events are but the echo of an inner state. The anger you call without a cause is a misdirected energy of consciousness, a belief in separation that blocks your birth into wholeness. The command not to kill becomes a revelation: there is no outer judge to appease while your inner life refuses to grant forgiveness. The brother is not only another person; he is any aspect of yourself that you have refused to own. The altar and the gift symbolize your present awareness and your purposes; do not lay your gift down in a space of conflict. When you remember a grievance while standing at the altar, return your gift to your heart, and reconcile within first. Say to yourself, I am one with the brother now; harmony is my natural state. Agree with thy adversary quickly—not to appease a law, but to restore the unity of your own consciousness before the way closes. Let every imagined sentence of blame fall away, and you will find the fire of hell emptied and your full light restored. The uttermost farthing is the belief in separation; pay it by dwelling in the reconciled state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am reconciled now.' Then imagine the brother as already harmonious with you, and feel the peace flooding your chest.
