Matthew 18:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 18 in context

Scripture Focus

3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3-4

Biblical Context

Jesus teaches conversion of mind to become like a child, and true greatness in the kingdom comes to the humble.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this text, conversion is not a change of clothing or creed but a redecoration of the inner state. The kingdom of heaven is not a distant realm but your present awareness—the I AM lighting up as you acknowledge yourself as consciousness, not the poor performer of appearances. Becoming like a little child means surrendering the habit of self-assertive control, trusting the unseen life within, letting imagination guide you, and refusing to program yourself by fear of lack. When you humble yourself as a child, you yield the throne of the ego and invite the divine energy to flow through you, making the inner vision your outer experience. The greatest in the kingdom is not the loud, but the receptive, open-hearted state that creates, by imagination, a reality aligned with divine truth. The discipline is to feel your I AM as the source of all you behold, and to revise any sense of separation through daily acts of surrender and affectionate attention to the present moment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state of a child who trusts completely in life; repeat I AM the kingdom within me and feel its quiet majesty. Then revise any sense of limitation by resting in that feeling until it lingers into your next moment.
