Keys Within the Kingdom

Matthew 16:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 16 in context

Scripture Focus

19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 16:19

Biblical Context

Jesus promises you the keys to the kingdom; your conscious declarations on earth shape heaven's response and the world you experience.

Neville's Inner Vision

Understand that the 'kingdom of heaven' is the state of awareness you sustain in the I AM. The 'keys' are the imaginal powers you possess, not external odds. When you 'bind on earth', you are refusing to entertain a state by which you still accept; when you 'loose on earth', you are inviting and accepting the state you desire. Heaven replies in accord with your inner posture. The verse does not speak of distant time; it speaks of the inner law: as within, so without. Your world is a field responding to the tone you maintain in consciousness. So, if you desire prosperity, health, or harmony, you practice seeing it as already done, feel the wish fulfilled, and dwell there until the outward circumstances corroborate the inner conviction. The moment you admit an unwanted condition, you have bound it; the moment you refuse it and replace it with the desired condition, you loose it into your life. The keys rest in quiet remembrance of your I AM, your awareness that creates, sustains, and changes all.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine turning a key in the door of your inner kingdom, saying, 'I bind this doubt' and 'I loose the outcome I desire,' feeling it as already done.
