The Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding a sign from heaven.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville’s ear, the Pharisees and Sadducees are not distant rivals but the two faces within every seeker: the critic and the intellect that demand proof. When they ask for a sign from heaven, they reveal a hunger to see external confirmation of truth, as if reality were withheld until some miracle appears. Yet the kingdom of God is not somewhere up there; it is the awakening of awareness within. Jesus answers from the I AM he represents, reminding us that no outward sign can fix inner perception. Your awareness does not require weather signs to justify its reality; it already stands as the unconditioned knowing, the I AM that you are. When you demand a sign, you are still listening to the old split between mind and essence. The cure is to revise the demand and adopt the inner certainty: the sign you seek is the inner conviction that you are already what you desire. In that inevitable moment, the heavens respond not with marvels but with a seamless alignment of your inner state with your outer experience.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, revise the demand for a sign, and assume the state 'I AM' is already fulfilled; feel it real. Let that inner certainty radiate as your atmosphere.
