I Am Faith on the Waves

Matthew 14:31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 14 in context

Scripture Focus

31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Matthew 14:31

Biblical Context

Jesus catches Peter and rebukes his little faith, asking why he doubted.

Neville's Inner Vision

Peter is you stepping out upon the inner sea of life, a figure of consciousness in the moment of possibility. The wind of sense experience stirs and fear whispers that the walls of the world are real. 'O thou of little faith' is not a verdict on your essential being but a note that you have walked too long in the realm of appearances and forgotten your I AM. When doubt arises, you begin to sink because you have misplaced your attention from the one presence that upholds you. Jesus stretching forth his hand is the inner act of awareness—your own I AM—reaching out to correct your focus and to remind you: the rule is not the waves but the inner certainty. To live this, revise the scene in your imagination: affirm, 'I am the faithful presence that walks above the waves,' and feel the hand of infinite support lifting you. Trust is a state you can assume, not a trait you earn. In that assuming, you are saved, and the waves become portals to greater life.

Practice This Now

Assume the scene: you are the I AM walking on inner waters. Repeat, 'I am faithful now,' until you feel steady, then let the sense of being held by the inner hand wash over you.
