Rest for the Weary Within

Matthew 11:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 11 in context

Scripture Focus

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

Biblical Context

The verse invites all who labour to come to rest. It promises relief from heavy burdens.

Neville's Inner Vision

To read this verse is to attend to your inner state. 'Come unto me' is not a request for an external savior, but an invitation to turn your attention to the I AM that you are. When you identify with that indwelling presence, the labor of lack and the burden of doubt reveal themselves as habits of thought, not facts. Rest arises the moment you assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: you are already at rest in the consciousness that knows itself as I AM. The heavy load simply tells you where attention has wandered; you revise by returning to the one who is always present. The miracle is not in changing the world, but in changing your sense of being. As you dwell in that inner peace, salvation and redemption are experienced as present, here and now, within the sovereign I AM.

Practice This Now

Practice: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and repeat 'I am resting in the I AM now.' Then imagine your burdens dissolving and feel the peace that is already yours.
