Inner Eyes, Inner Bread

Mark 8:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 8 in context

Scripture Focus

17And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
Mark 8:17-18

Biblical Context

Jesus rebukes their focus on bread, pointing them to inner perception rather than outward provision. He asks if their hearts, eyes, and ears are closed to truth and remembrance.

Neville's Inner Vision

All through the scene, the bread-talk is the veil for a deeper certainty: your consciousness is the field where reality is formed. When you say we have no bread, you are declaring a state of lack, a hardened heart that resists the inner lead. Jesus asks you to consider having eyes; see ye not? not to shame, but to awaken your attention to the unseen nourishment already given. The inner bread is the I AM, the awareness that never hungers and never lacks. The disciples forgetfulness is a reminder that your senses can be dulled by fear and conditioned belief, yet the memory of your true nature remains intact beneath the surface. To reinterpret, adopt the assumption that you are already full, already provided for by the divine within. Feel the reality of abundance in the chest, hear the voice of truth in the quiet, and remember that all nourishment begins in consciousness. The world will rise to match your inner state. Practice is simple: revise the thought, assume the truth, and feel it real in the present moment.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and revise your state to I AM the bread within; I have all I need now. Feel the fullness as real in your present experience.
