Biblical Context
In Mark 6:33-34 the crowds run to Jesus; he looks on them with compassion, seeing them as sheep without a shepherd. He then begins to teach them many things.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the Neville lens, the crowd and Jesus are not distant events but inner states of consciousness. When you hear of compassion for the multitude, you are being stirred to awaken your own I AM presence, the shepherding consciousness that tends to every thought and feeling. The sheep without a shepherd symbolize parts of yourself momentarily without guidance; the act of compassion is the reclamation of order by awareness. Jesus beginning to teach them many things becomes the inner instruction you give to your shifting states: reassurance, guidance, nourishment. The inner shepherd does not demand from others; it acts from the stillness of presence, and all inner voices respond. Your imagination creates reality; when you allow yourself to feel as the one who both cares for and teaches all inner states, the external scene unfolds as demonstration of your inner order. Practice a simple shift: presume that you are the I AM, the shepherd of every state of consciousness, and let compassion flow from that Presence to all parts of you. As you revise your belief, the crowd becomes your own inner field of nourishment and truth.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and picture a crowd of inner states gathering before you. Assume the I AM presence as their shepherd and feel the compassion as real now.
