Mark 15:18-19

Biblical Context

In Mark 15:18-19, the crowd hails Jesus as King of the Jews, then beats him and spits on him, while some bow in worship. The passage shows the clash between outward gesture and inner truth about authority.

Neville's Inner Vision

This scene is a mirror of your own consciousness. The crowd shouting, 'Hail, King of the Jews,' represents the outer claim of power you momentarily assume. The reed and blows are the minor authorities of habit and doubt attempting to knock you off your throne, while the kneeling and worship expose the paradox: you can outwardly honor the king while harboring internal resistance. The true king is the I AM within, the inner awareness that animates all you perceive. Mark’s drama is a demonstration of inner authority tested by fluctuating perception. When you embrace the Kingdom of God as an inner state, the external drama begins to harmonize with your core belief. The king does not arrive from without but arises as your ongoing assumption. By consistently imagining this inner royalty into reality, you dissolve the separation between appearance and essence. The outer events become a stage for the consciousness you choose to inhabit.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and state: I AM the King within me now. Imagine the inner king seated on a throne of awareness, and feel that authority filling every moment and gesture.
