Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The parable uses the fig tree to show that inner signs announce inner fulfillment; when you notice such signs in your consciousness, the fulfillment is near and ready to reveal itself in your life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your consciousness is the fig tree. When the branch of attention is tender and opens to new leaves, you sense that the season you desire is near. In Neville's language, the events spoken of by the Master are states of mind, not distant happenings. The 'this generation' that shall not pass is the living now—the present state you persistently maintain about yourself. See the signs as inner movements: a thought that returns with clarity, a feeling of wholeness, a quiet certainty that you are already within the Kingdom. Do not chase external proofs; revise the assumption about time. Rather than hoping for summer to arrive, assume summer is now; feel the warmth, notice the leaves unfolding in your imagination, and anchor that sensation until it becomes your habitual awareness. By loving attention to the current inner weather, you align with the eventual outer fulfillment. Your inner spring is the only weather that matters; the outer world merely echoes your inner summer.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of fulfillment: I am in the Kingdom now. Feel the warmth, see the leaves of your inner fig tree unfold, and rest in this sensation for several minutes until it feels real.
