Inner Heir of the Kingdom

Mark 12:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 12 in context

Scripture Focus

6Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's.
8And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
Mark 12:6-8

Biblical Context

The parable tells of a landowner who sends his beloved son to claim the vineyard, but the tenants plot to kill him and cast him out. It reveals the clash between rightful inheritance and inner resistance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the inner landscape, the vineyard is your life-consciousness; the owner is the I AM speaking as awareness. The beloved son is the I AM made flesh, the life within that desires reverence; the tenants are your lower states—fear, greed, pride—who would kill the higher life to keep control. When you accept the Son, the sense of separation dissolves and the kingdom returns to your mind as lived experience. The 'rejection' of the Son is the mistaken belief that life is governed by outer forces; the truth is that new life arises only as you acknowledge the Son's presence. This parable invites you to revise the scene from loss to reverence, to perceive events as inner movements of consciousness, and to align with the I AM's authority. The owner reclaims his vineyard, and the inheritance is restored within your awareness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare, 'I AM the beloved Son within me, reverence now.' Visualize the Son returning to the vineyard and feel the Kingdom awakening in you as present possession.
