The Inner Covenant of Love

Mark 12:29-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 12 in context

Scripture Focus

29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:29-30

Biblical Context

The passage states the supreme command to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. It affirms that there is one Lord governing every faculty.

Neville's Inner Vision

The four lines of devotion are not four duties but four states of consciousness you harmonize under the one awareness. Your heart is the pulse of feeling; your soul is the seat of longing and will; your mind is the field of thought; your strength is the energy of choice. To “love” in this sense is to refuse any split in consciousness: to accept the I AM as the beloved, the ruler, the reality demanding loyalty. Practice shifts from external prayer to inner revision: whenever fear or doubt arises, revise to 'I AM the Lord within me,' and feel the unity radiate through every impulse, willingness, and action. As you dwell in this alignment, the exterior world rearranges to reflect the interior covenant.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat, 'I AM the Lord within me; I love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength,' imagining a single bright center at the chest; hold the feeling of unity for a few minutes.
