Biblical Context
In Mark 11:1-4, Jesus sends two disciples to fetch a colt tied by the door, with the instruction that if anyone asks, they should say the Lord hath need of him. They find the colt exactly as described and bring it.
Neville's Inner Vision
What you call a story of a colt is a revelation of your inner life. The colt stands for a dormant power within you, waiting to be assigned to your kingly purpose. The journey toward Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives mirrors your movement of consciousness toward a desired state. The two disciples are aspects of your own mind—attention and imagination—going out into the village of appearances to locate the state you intend to realize. When they find a colt tied at the door where two ways meet, you are presented with a moment of decision: will you loosen the old limitation and claim the new energy? The declaration that the Lord hath need of him reveals that your higher self, your inner Lord, claims dominion over your present conditions. As you accept this inner order, the colt is loosed and brought forth to serve your kingly purpose. There is no external miracle; the transformation occurs entirely within your consciousness, in exact proportion to your belief in your own sovereignty.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you already possess the colt; feel the Lord's need of this state as a present fact, and loosen old limitations with a clear breath of release.
