Greatness Through Serving Others
Mark 10:41-45 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus teaches that true greatness is expressed as service, not domination. The worldly rulers are contrasted with the servant who gives his life.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s language, the scene reveals a state of consciousness, not a distant event. The ten are displeased because James and John’s appeal triggers your own longing for status in place of service. The 'Gentiles' who exercise lordship map to a mind that believes power comes from external authority. The master’s answer—so shall it not be among you—invites you to dis-identify from that identity and to adopt a new function: minister of all. To practice is to assume a state rather than chase a role. Begin by claiming the I AM as the ruler of your inner town; imagine yourself serving, healing, bearing burdens for every aspect of your being. As you revise the impulse to rule into acts of service, you collapse the sense of separation and feel the unity behind appearances. The line 'the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve' becomes your daily rule: your life is a ransom only when offered in love, not in control.
Practice This Now
Tonight, assume the feeling: I AM the minister of all. Revise any urge to rule by imagining yourself serving one person with gentleness, then let that feeling guide your actions tomorrow.
