Mark 10:21-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 10 in context

Scripture Focus

21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
Mark 10:21-22

Biblical Context

Jesus tells the wealthy young man to sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow him. The issue is the mind's attachment to wealth, not wealth itself.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Mark 10:21-22, wealth is a state of consciousness the I AM invites you to revise. Jesus beholds the young man with love, a tender acknowledgment of your present belief in self as possession. The command to sell, give to the poor, take up the cross, and follow is not merely outward action but an inward shift: identify not with goods but with the treasure that awaits in heaven—the abundant imagination that is always at hand. The man’s sadness reveals the stubborn sense of scarcity binding his sense of self; you, too, must let go of outer props to awaken to the inner kingdom. The cross becomes the symbol for disciplined, deliberate change of belief, and following me is choosing the new state of consciousness that can feel its own fullness here and now. The kingdom is within; the more you align your thoughts with that reality, the more you live as wealth personified, regardless of external possessions.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already living the abundance you seek. In your imagination, give freely, step lightly along the path, and feel the I AM wealth sustaining you as your true self.
