Inner Wealth, Kingdom Within
Mark 10:17-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A wealthy man asks how to inherit eternal life; Jesus teaches that attachment to riches hinders entry into the kingdom, while trust in God and willing renunciation open the way to abundant life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your question about eternal life is a question about your present state of awareness. The man who runs to Jesus is not a stranger to virtue; his wealth is a symbol of a fixed sense of security built on outer things. Jesus’ invitation to sell and give is not a command about poverty, but a symbolic call to surrender the belief that life depends on possessions. When you allow the feeling that there is only God, the one I AM behind all thoughts, you are entering the kingdom now. The 'treasure in heaven' is the wealth of consciousness that remains when you no longer measure yourself by outward goods. 'Take up the cross' means bear the ego's resistance to this inner shift; follow me into the realm where all things are possible with God. The statement that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom points to the impossibility of self-will in the light of truth; yet all things are possible to God when you align your imagination with that I AM. Those who 'left' for the gospel discover the hundredfold in this life—a life of inner abundance and harmonious relationships, not merely external wealth.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare, 'I am wealth in God,' imagining the light of divine abundance filling your being. Feel the felt sense of supply now, and revision your belief that security comes from possessions by affirming that your needs are supplied by the I AM.
