Authority Over Unclean Spirits

Mark 1:26-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 1 in context

Scripture Focus

26And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
Mark 1:26-27

Biblical Context

Mark 1:26-27 describes an unclean spirit being cast out by Jesus. The astonished crowd witnesses the authority and the dawning of a new doctrine.

Neville's Inner Vision

The scene is not in time but in your own consciousness. The unclean spirit is a belief or habit that says you are bound. When you, as I AM, command it to come out, the movement is not physical but a shift in your inner atmosphere. The crowd that marvels represents the awakened portion of your mind witnessing the effect of your new doctrine, the inner conviction that you are not ruled by fear or limitation. The authority that Jesus shows is your own I AM presence, the awareness that can order thoughts, feelings, and sensations. To experience it now, you must assume the state you desire as if it is already true. The tearing away is the old self clinging to the past, and its exit leaves space for the power and serenity of the divine within. This is deliverance, restoration of purity, a reclaiming of integrity. When you feel the power as if it is yours here and now, the unclean voice loses its grip, and others may notice the change as if a new doctrine has been born within you.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, declare I AM the ruler of my body and mind, revise every limiting belief, and feel the unclean spirit depart as the calm, authoritative presence of I AM fills you.
