Inner Victory And The Law
Malachi 4:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Malachi 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage speaks of the old self becoming ashes under your feet as you move through God's day. It also counsels remembering the inner law given to Moses and awaiting Elijah as the inner messenger of awakening.
Neville's Inner Vision
Be still and hear: you are the I AM, and the wicked are states of consciousness you outgrow. When the verse says you shall tread down the wicked, imagine stepping on those thoughts and habits that no longer serve your life of awareness, letting them turn to ashes under the soles of your certainty. The line Remember ye the law of Moses speaks to a continuous inner practice: the statutes and judgments are not external codes but the steady alignments of your attention and discipline within. Elijah the prophet stands as the inner impulse that precedes a dramatic shift in consciousness—the forerunner who clears the way for a new day in your mind. Before the great and dreadful day, a transition occurs inside you; what seems terrifying to the ego is simply your awareness expanding into a truer you. The great day is not future doom but the present dawn when you know you created your experience through belief and feeling. Your role is to hold the vision and the feeling of I AM, and let the old perish in the light you radiate.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a moment of quiet, assume the feeling 'I AM' as the governing reality. Revise any sense of separation by stepping mentally onto the ashes of the old self and inviting Elijah—the awakening of consciousness—toward you.
