Biblical Context
Malachi 2:16 speaks of God hating putting away and treachery. It urges you to guard your spirit and keep covenant fidelity within your own consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, the I AM is the LORD of your inner life, the awareness in which you awaken and dream. To hate putting away is not a condemnation of others, but a call to stop dissolving the states you have pledged to experience. When you cover violence with your garment, you hide inner conflict behind outward piety; you cloak fear with righteousness and mistake it for protection. Malachi speaks to your consciousness: beware of betraying the unity you intend by turning away from what you have assumed. The invitation is to keep the inner covenant intact, even when resentment, hurt, or loneliness arises. Accept the present feeling as a signpost of a state, then choose to reinforce the state you want by assumption and feeling it real. Image and feel your I AM standing loyal to its own truth; embargo the old image of division. By keeping faith with your inner covenant, you align with the life you desire and release the sense of separation that threatens it.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in quiet and assume you are already in loyal covenant with the I AM; feel that unity as a present reality. Then revise any impulse toward treachery by affirming 'I am faithful to the covenant I hold with my I AM' and let that feeling color your next actions.
