Unity in Luke 9:49-50

Luke 9:49-50 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 9 in context

Scripture Focus

49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
Luke 9:49-50

Biblical Context

John objects to a man casting out devils who isn’t with them. Jesus replies not to forbid him, for anyone not against us is for us.

Neville's Inner Vision

Luke 9:49–50 speaks to the unfoldment of your own state. John’s zeal exposes a common mistake: you imagine that the kingdom is a closed club, bigger on the inside than the outside. But Jesus answers from the I AM within: do not forbid the one who casts out devils in my name, for he that is not against us is for us. In Neville’s terms, every outward ministry is a sign of a living image in consciousness. If you condemn the worker who seems different, you are judging a facet of your own interior kingdom. The true worker is the awareness that has never ceased to act in love and power. When you acknowledge that the same I AM animates both you and the stranger, you enlarge your field of miracles. Your imagination is not limited to your preferred circle; it is the universal self expressing as many ministries. By relaxing judgment, you revise the fixed idea of separation and invite empowerment, unity, and mercy into your daily life.

Practice This Now

Assume you are one with all who do good in His name. In stillness, imagine the other worker casting out devils in the same I AM and feel the unity as real.
